MGNREGS to include Rural Sanitation- UPA has widened the scope of its flagship MGNREGS to include works relating to rural sanitation in collaboration with the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA). This would strengthen the base of rural livelihood and create durable assets and infrastructure at village level. The provision has been provided in the Para 4(1) IV(i) of the Schedule I of the MGNREG Act.

Ministry of Rural Development has issued a directive to provide 150 days of wage employment under the MGNREGA for Scheduled Tribes households living in forest areas. The additional days will be available for those who have got pattas under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006.
The states of Odisha, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh will be greatly benefited by this.

Supreme Court reserves order on KG basin dispute- Court reserved its order on the issue of appointing national or international arbitrator for adjudication of dispute between Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) and the government over recovery of cost for developing the country's key natural gas field in KG basin.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Petroleum Minister M. Verappa Moily, former Minister Murli Deora and former Director-General of Hydrocarbons V. K. Sibal were named in an FIR registered by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi Government over the alleged collusion in fixing natural gas prices and hoarding in the KG-D6 basin.
These people have been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and for IPC chareges of Criminal conspiracy an cheating.
The probe was ordered by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
