These questions contain the necessary qualifications required to be fulfilled by a candidate who is applying for certain job/promotion/facility, along with the bio-data. You are supposed to assess the candidate’s eligibility or potential for the same and decide upon the further course of action to be taken fromamong the given alternatives. Example 1: Read the following information carefully to answer the questions given belowThe criteria for granting the admission to a MBA course is as follows.

A candidate must—
(i) be at least a graduate with first class.
(ii) not be more than 25 yr as on August 15, 2010.
(iii) secure minimum 50% marks in the Entrance Test.
(iv) be fluent in Hindi and English.

However, If a candidate—
(A) fulfils all other criteria except (ii) above but is less than 30 yr and also belongs to back ward class, should be given admission.
(B) fulfills all other criteria except (i) above, but is a postgraduate withminimum55%marks, should be referred to chairman-Admissions.

Based on the above criteria and the information given in each of the following questions, you have to take the decision in regard to each case. You are not to assume anything. These cases are given to you as on 15-8- 010.

1. Jayant Sharma who belongs to back ward class, is fluent in Hindi & English.He is a graduate with 1st class and has got 58% marks in the Entrance Test. His date of birth is 1-6-1982.

2. Rakhi Sharma whose date of birth is 11-1-1987 is a backward class candidate. She has passed her graduation with 1st class this year. She secured 44% marks in the Entrance Test. She is fluent in Hindi & English.

3. Anil Singh has got 80%marks in theEntrance Test.He is 20 yr old and has 54%marks in his post graduation and 54% marks in his graduation.

4. Vikas Pathak is a graduate with 1st class. He has secured 60% marks in the Entrance Test. He is fluent in Hindi & English.

5. 24 years old, Deepak Pratap is a graduate with 75% marks and obtained 60% marks in the Entrance Test.
He is fluent in Hindi & English.

Solutions for (Q. Nos. 1 to 5)

1. (a) Jayant Sharma fulfills all the requirements, so, should be admitted.
2. (d) Rakhi Sharma has got less marks in Entrance Test. So, she should not be admitted.
3. (c) We do not know the fluency of Anil Singh in Hindi & English. So, data is not sufficient to take decision.
4. (c) We do not know the age of Vikas Pathak, So, we cannot take decision.
5. (a) Deepak Pratap fulfills all the requirements, So, he should be admitted.

Example 2: Read the following information carefully to answer the questions given below The criteria for taking membership of Delhi Entertainment club are as follows The aspirant should
(i) have valid voter ID card of Delhi at least 10 yr old.
(ii) bemarried.
(iii) not be less than 28 yr old as on 1-6-2010.
(iv) have car, purchased at least 4 yr ago.
(v) be minimum of two of his/her family members or relatives served the club earlier.
(vi) be an Indian citizen.
(vii) NRI cannot be member of club. If not mention, person should be treated as resident Indian.
(viii) Pay Rs. 2000 as member ship fee.

However, If the aspirant satisfies all the criteria except—
(A) (ii) above, he/she should have participated in any sports at national level, then membership given.
(B) (v) above, he/she should be employed as any Government officer, then referred to secretary of the club.

6. Rohit Gupta, resident of U.P., has been working in the Government office for the last 9 yr. He had voter ID card 10 yr old. He had purchased a car 5 yr ago. His father & mother both served the club earlier. He has two daughters. He is ready to pay Rs. 2000 as membership fee. His date of birth is 30th march, 1961.

7. 30 yr old Pawan Kumar, an engineer in Arihant Group of companies, had been working for the last 19 yr in this company. He had represented Delhi in Ranji trophy and has vote ID card & personal car from the beginning of his job. His uncle & father served as clubmembers earlier in their youth. He is ready to pay Rs. 2000 as membership fee.

8. Prashant Sharma, a resident of Delhi has been working in ministry of railways for last 10 yr. He goes to office by his 2001 model Maruti which he purchased brand new. His wife,78 born, is 5 yr younger to him. He maintains healthy bank balance for last 10 yr. He has voter ID card 20 yr old and is ready to pay Rs. 2000 asmembership fee.

9. Monika, a widow, lives with his two daughters& works in a Government office. She is barely able to sustain her life with 5000 P.M. payment. Her husband & brother served the club as members. She had voter ID card 10 yr old. She is now 50 yr old. She goes to office on her two wheeler which her husband bought. She is ready to pay Rs. 2000 as membership fee.

10. 30 yr old Smita Singh, has been working in Phone tel, for the last one year. She was in Times Express for two years before this job. She has represented Delhi in chess at national level. She has voter ID card of 20 yr old. She owns a car for last 5 yr. She is ready to pay Rs. 2000 as membership fee.
