Success Story : 20 IAS aspirants got success from Kanpur City

In the process of bringing glory to themselves, 20 successful IAS aspirants from the city have earned prestige for their city as well.
Out of 770 plus selections in the civil services exam 2008, the aspirants from the city make a decent share and this has made the teachers of the candidates very proud.

Talking to TOI, Pradeep Dikshit, owner of Utkarsh Academy, who specialises in civil services coaching said, "We had eleven selections from our institute. Their success has dented the popular belief that to be IAS, you need to go to Delhi."

Dikshit said further, "Though they have done well for themselves and their families but the city is also basking in their glory."

Dikshit added, "Delhi for IAS and Kota for IIT-JEE have emerged as popular destinations for coaching aspirants. But this success of candidates from Kanpur says that success has nothing to do with place."

He further said, "There were nine boys and two girls among our successful students. The top ranker among our student is Akhileshwar Singh who has got a rank of 180 in the prestigious competition. Four IITians have also made it to the selection list but they are not from our institute.''
