Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre) of the Indian Navy for Jan 2012 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India

Age Limit:

19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1987 and 01 Jul 1992; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications:

Any of the following:

• Science Graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognised University.
• BE/B Tech with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in any discipline from an institution recognised by AICTE.
• Science Graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognised University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate.
• Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research/Quantitative Methods with minimum 75% marks from recognised University.
• Graduate/Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from a recognised University.

Physical Standards:

• Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight.
• Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.
• There will be no relaxation in physical standards.

Pay Scale & Promotions:

The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service condition. The Pay Scale and promotion criteria is as follows:-

• SUB LIEUTENANT: PB-3/15600-39100- 5400(GP) - 6000 (MSP)
• LIEUTENANT: PB-3/15600-39100- 6100(GP)- 6000(MSP)
• LIEUTENANT: CDR PB-3/15600-39100- 6600(GP)- 6000(MSP)
• COMMANDER: PB-4/37400-67000- 8000(GP)- 6000(MSP)

• Candidates have the option of submitting application in 'physical format' or e-application' (Online) for this entry. Candidates can only apply in one of the aforementioned formats. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of his candidature. The candidates desirous of applying on-line (e-application) can do so from 12 March 11. The online application registration will cease on 27 March 11.

• On-line (e-application): Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:
  (a) Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
  (b) Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.
• Filling up of e-application: For filling up application Online visit our website and proceed as follows:
  (a) Click on the "Officer Entry" button under the option 'Apply Online' on the Home Page.
  (b) Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you highlight each field
  (c) Before clicking the Submit button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form is correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record.
  (d) After submitting the form, a 'Roll Number' will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. This Roll Number will automatically appear on the printout of the form. If the system does not generate the Roll Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of Application by the system.
  (e) Print two copies of this Application Form having the system generated Roll Number. One copy of this Application Form is to be duly signed and mailed (posted) to Post Box No. 04, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi - 110 011 along with the following documents:- Self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates along with Mark Sheets, other educational certificates and mark sheets of all semester/years.
