CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI) is a premier research Institute in the field of Electronics, set up under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research(CSIR). It is devoted to R&D activities in three areas, namely: (1) Microwave Tubes: [Sub-areas: Klystron, Magnetron, Travelling Wave Tubes, Thyratron, Gyrotron, Tera Hertz devices]; (2) Semiconductor Devices [Sub-areas: MEMS, Microsensors, VLSI Design (Digital, Analog, Mixed Signal), Opto-electronic Technologies, Photonic Devices and Sub-Systems, nano-electronics]; (3) Electronic Systems: [Sub-areas: Electronic Systems for Agri-Process Control, Industrial Control & Automation, Power Electronics, Robotics, Image Processing & DSP, Embedded System Design].

The Institute is looking for dynamic and motivated persons against the following lateral entry R&D positions:-

Scientist Gr. IV (2)

  • Number of Posts: 02
  • Qualification: M. Tech./ME or equivalent – with 2 years experience in the relevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph. D. – with 1 year experience in the relevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph.D. (Engg.)
  • Relevant field of experience: Specialization in design and technology of Microwave Tubes, Cathodes, Terahertz Tubes and Vacuum Microelectronic Devices reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band-Rs.5600-39100 (PB-3), Grade Pay- Rs. 6600, Minimum Pay: Rs. 18750, Total Emoluments- Rs. 40608.
  • Age: Upper Age limit not exceeding (as on 28 – 03 –2011) 35 years.

Scientist Gr. IV (2)

Number of Posts: 07

  • Qualification: M. Tech./ME or equivalent – with 2 years experience in the relevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph. D. – with 1 year experience in the relevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph.D. (Engg.)
  • Relevant field of experience:
  • Specialization in Semiconductor Devices/Experience in Design and development of MEMS and Microsensors reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Specialization in Analog and Mixed Signal IC Design, Signal Conditioning/ Chip Design for MEMS and Microsensors reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Specialization in III-N based Photonic devices/White LED design and technology reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Specialization in Real-time image/video processing through FPGA/Custom VLSI Processors/High-performance digital Signal Processing reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band-Rs.5600-39100 (PB-3), Grade Pay- Rs. 6600, Minimum Pay: Rs. 18750, Total Emoluments- Rs. 40608.

  • Relevant field of experience: Specialization in Power Electronics reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band-Rs.5600-39100 (PB-3), Grade Pay- Rs. 6600, Minimum Pay: Rs. 18750, Total Emoluments- Rs. 40608.
  • Age: Upper Age limit not exceeding (as on 28 – 03 –2011) 35 years.

Scientist Gr. IV (2)

  • Number of Posts: 07
  • Qualification: M. Tech./ME or equivalent – with 2 years experience in therelevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph. D. – with 1 year experience in the relevant discipline/area of work. OR Ph.D. (Engg.)
  • Relevant field of experience: Specialization in Engineering Physics, Electronic Instrumentation (NIR, Chemometrics, Image processing)/ embedded system design, reconfigurable computing reflected through involvement in major projects and work reflected in publications.
  • Pay Scale: Pay Band-Rs.5600-39100 (PB-3), Grade Pay- Rs. 6600, Minimum Pay: Rs. 18750, Total Emoluments- Rs. 40608.
  • Age: Upper Age limit not exceeding (as on 28 – 03 –2011) 35 years.

Mode of Selection:

  • Mere fulfillment of educational qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. A duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Only those candidates, who in the opinion of the Institute, suit the Institutional requirements, will be called for interview. The candidate should, therefore, mention in the application his/her qualifications and experiences in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification supported with documents.
  • Candidate should ensure that he/she possesses the minimum educational qualification/experience in the relevant area as required in the category/post, for which he/she is applying, on the last date of receipt of application.
  • The period of experience in the requisite discipline/area of work wherever prescribed shall be counted with effect from the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum educational qualifications required for that post.
  • Only outstation candidates called and found eligible for interview will be paid to and fro single second-class rail fare from the actual place of undertaking the journey or from the normal place of their residence whichever is nearer to the place of interview on production of Rail Tickets/Rail Ticket Numbers or any other proof of journey. Any discrepancy found between the information given in application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in interview. Such candidate will not be paid any fare.
  • Canvassing in any form or bringing of any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
  • The decision of the CEERI/CSIR in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of examination/interview will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/her agency.

How To Apply:

  • Candidate should download the Prescribed Application Form from CEERI website www.ceeri.res.in They should fill in the application(s) form in all respects and attach attested copies of all certificates of educational qualifications, experience, etc., together with an application fee (if applicable) of ` 100/- (Rupees One hundred only) in the form of crossed Demand Draft valid for at least 6 months, in favour of Director, CEERI payable at Pilani. Send the completed application (with requisite attachments) in an envelope super scribing “Application for the post____________ (name of post applied for with Post code)” to the Controller of Administration, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Pilani (Rajasthan) –333031, so as to reach on or before 28th March,2011.
  • Candidate belonging to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped category, women candidates and regular employees of CSIR are exempt from payment of application fee.
  • If a candidate desires to apply for more than one post, he /she should send separate applications (along with requisite fees) for different posts.
  • Applications from employees of Government Departments would be considered only if forwarded through proper channel, duly certified by the employer that the applicant would be relieved within one month of the receipt of the offer of appointment, if selected. Vigilance clearance in respect of the employee should also be recorded in the forwarding letter. However, candidates may submit an advance copy of the application before the closing date. Applications routed through proper channel should reach CEERI at the earliest.
  • Candidates should specifically note that the applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay etc.) will not be entertained by CEERI. Any enclosure received separately subsequent to the receipt of the application may not be connected therewith. No representation in this regard will be entertained.
  • Incomplete application (i.e. without photograph, without attested copy of educational certificates/experience certificate(s), unsigned applications and applications with columns left blank) will not be entertained and will stand rejected.

Following documents must be attached along with the application form

  • Attested copies of Secondary School certificate showing Date of Birth
  • Attested copies of Senior Secondary Certificate and marks sheet
  • Attested copies of Diploma/Degree certificate and mark sheet (year/semester wise) in support of essential qualification (as listed in Col.3 of Table of Posts) and any higher qualification.
  • Attested copies of relevant experience certificate(s), if any (as claimed in your application)
  • Demand Draft of ` 100/-
  • Attested copy of Certificate of belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PH category (in prescribed format and issued by appropriate authority)
  • No Objection Certificate (applicable to serving Govt. /Public sector employees).
