Percentage

‘Per cent’ means ‘per hundred’. It is given by % symbol. Here x% means x per hundred or . x/100 Thus, any percentage can be converted into an equivalent fraction by dividing it by 100.

eg                                         20%=20/100=1/5;                                     150%=150/100=3/2

Also, any fraction or decimal can be converted into its equivalent percentage by multiplying with 100.

eg 1/5=1/5X100=20%; 3/2=3/2X100 = 150%
