- Culture wise, Japan has a vast influence of Buddhism, which came to the region from India in the 6th Century.
- Indian Ambassador to Japan, Ms. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, highlights that there is a strong link between Shinzoism and Hinduism. and there has been long historical links between the two countries.
- Japanese art and culture has an environmental perspective and is an example of beautiful calligraphy.
- Japan also has the world’s oldest theatre art.
- Sumo Wrestling is the National Sport of Japan.
- Baseball and Football are also very popular among the People.
- The Japanese capital- Tokyo- is one of the most densely populated cities in the world.
- Japan is the 3rd largest Economy in the World.
- Japanese PM- Shinzo Abe- was the Chief Guest for this year’s Republic Day in India.
- India is only country to have Annual Prime Ministerial Summit with Japan.
- India has been receiving liberals grants in the form of ODA loans from Japan.
- Also the deep friendship between the two countries is evident from the Projects like the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
