Unit-I
- Fundamental of Art :-Definitions of Art & Meaning, Classification of Art (Fine Art & Performing Art), Importance of Art, Creative Process (Observation, Perception, Imagination), Subject and Subject Matter, Folk and Tribal Art.
Unit - II
- Elements of Painting :- Line, Form, Colour, Tone, Texture, Space, Principle of Composition – Unity, Harmony, Balance, Emphasis or dominance, Rhythm, Proportion and Perspective, Six Canons of Indian Painting.
Unit - III
- History of Indian Sculpture :- Prehistoric Art, Indus Valley Civilization, Shung Period Sanchi Barhut, Kushan Period – Gandhar style, Medieval Period – Ellora, Elephanta, Mahabalipuram.
- History of Indian Painting :- Prehistoric Painting, Bagh, Sigiriya, Jogimara, Pal Ajanta Painting, Jain Painting, Rajasthan Painting – Mewar, Marwar, Hadoti (Kota-Bundi), Kishangarh, Dhundhar (Jaipur Painting), Pahari, Mughal School.

- History of Modern Art :- Neo-Classicism, Romanticism, Neo-Realism, Impressionism, Neo-Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Nabism, Cubism, Expressionism, Futurism, Constructivism, Metaphysical Painting, Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Art, Op Art, Pop Art.
Unit - VIII
- Aesthetics :- Definition of Aesthetics, Eastern and Western concepts of Beauty, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Leonardo Da Vinci, Baumgarten, Hegel, Schelling, Kant, Freud, Tolstoy, Mooris Wetiz, Croce, G.Santayana, S.K. Langer, I.A. Richards, Roger Fry.
Unit - IX
- Natya Shastra, Ras Siddhant (Bharat Muni, Bhatt Lolatt, Shankuk, Bhattnayak, Abhinav Gupt), Concept of Beauty in Veda, Upnishads, Vatsayan, Kamsutra and Shadang, Vishnu Dharmottar Purana, Concept of Beauty in Shiva, Vaishnava and Shakta religions and philosophy, Ravindra Nath Tagore, A.K. Coomarswami.
Unit - X
- History of Eastern Art :- China, Japan and Persia.
Pattern of Question Papers :
- Objective Type Paper.
- Maximum Marks : 100
- Number of Questions : 100
- Duration of Paper : Two Hours.
- All Questions carry equal marks.
- There will be Negative Marking for wrong answer.
