IAS- Indian administraive service
IPS- Indian police serviceias and ips are choices offered to successful candidates of the indian civil services exam. 

All graduates from any field can take this exam.

IAS- they are officers under the govt of india who help in policy change implementation, in the area they are posted in. their charge may vary from district collector to health seceratary or chief secretary. 

IPS-they are higher ranking police officials who are in charge of maintaining law and order and also, internal security in our country.

coming to your question about age factor, for general categories it 30yrs, for SC/T's, OBC its 35. for your information there is no separate interviews for IAS, IPS. If you gone through your mains then have to attend for the interview then considering about your performance.it wil be decided

hi ips aspirants... my question is do postings are allotted to the selected candidates depending on the regional languages or can be allotted anywhere in India....???

as per my information,you can be posted anywhere,irrespective of your origin or the language you speak.The postings are done as per the service requirements and also depends on your attributes which are analysed during training.
