sir, im going to attend upsc at 2011..in main exam, for Indian language, im taking Tamil.Other papers im going to take English as medium of instruction.. my optional subjects are botany and zoology...Shall i attend interview in Tamil or i should attend interview only in English.. kindly clarify my doubt sir...

Hi sir, I'm s/w engineer, but my grad. is from Art side. that's why I want to take Public Admin. and Political Sci as per my optional subjects. Can't I take it. somebody told me that both subject we can't take because syllabus is similar. Kindly tell me. Thanks

I would like to know: 1. What is the weightage of optionals in the main exams for IAS? In the sense, If i take economics and commerce and optionals and another guy takes Public admin and another subject say anthropology .. we both score the same .. is there any distinction or do both candidates stand equal chance for IAS berth? 2. Hello, I have done masters in UK and currently working here as a software engg. I really want to prepare very hard and appear for IAS. I need some guideline to start study as where and how to start? Is couching required?. Can I get coaching online or any other alternative. Regarding optional subjects which is a big ? as well. You should take a subject that about which you have 1. Little knowledge and enough resources or 2. Enough knowledge and little resources or 3, the best, to have enough knowledge as well as enough resources alltogether.
