For handicapped person what is the age limit & how many attempts does he/she have?

Dear Ujjwal Sir, (Or any senior member / officer, who can help me in this)

One of my friend is 29 yrs old(May,1982 born, Female). She appeared for civil service exam 2011 and She is PH candidate and having 80%hearing loss left ear and 50% ear loss in right ear.She is in General Category. Will she be eligible in age relaxation (i.e upto 10yrs) for handicapped person (What is the age limit for her?) or how many attempts does she have? Pls help her or should I go and find out in UPSC Office.

Answer:
Yes! Ofcourse she is eligible in age relaxation.
So, as per your friend's PH category.

She will get:
AGE LIMIT - upto 40 years you can appear in the exam, as long as you don’t attain 40 years Age on 1st august of that year.
ATTEMPT - upto 7 attempt.
