Delhi Police - General Criteria

Vast career opportunities are available in Delhi Police at the various levels. Some of the important recruitments are the following:

i) Constable
ii) Ministerial Cadre
iii) Sub-Inspector
iv) Assistant Commissioner of Police

They are required to appear for Physical Examination, Written Test and Interview.
For Sub-Inspectors Staff Selection Commission places advertisements from time to time.
For Assistant Commissioner of Police the entire process is conducted and carried out by the Union Public Service Commission and candidates are selected through Civil Services Examination.

Eligibility for Constable  (Executive) Male


Age
18 to 21 years Relaxable upto the age of 26 years for :-

Eligibility for Sub-Inspector (Executive) Male

Pay Scale : 3050-75-3950-80-4590 and other allowances.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:

  1. NATIONALITY: Applicant shall be a bonafide citizen of INDIA.
  2. AGE: 18 to 21 years as on 01.01.2008
  3. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: 10+ 2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized Board Graduation Certificate for Ex-Servicemen.
  4. HEIGHT:  Minimum 170 Cms.
  5. CHEST:  Minimum 81 to 85 cms (with minimum expansion of 4 cms).

MEDICAL STANDARD:

The candidates should be of sound state of health, free from defect, deformity or disease. Both eyes should have a vision 6/12 (without glasses). No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count.

PHYSICAL ENDURANCE  TEST  (Qualifying)

                       Candidates have to complete 1600 mtrs. race in 6 minutes to qualify. Those who qualify in the race will further  appear in the following tests:-
            1.         Long jump                     14 feet             (qualifying in three chances)
            2.         Chin-ups                       05                    (qualifying)
            3.         Shot-put (16 pounds)     18 feet              (qualifying in three chances)

Note: There will be no appeal against the “failure” to qualify the Physical Endurance Test.

 WRITTEN TEST:

All candidates, who qualify the physical endurance & measurement tests, shall be put through a written test of one and a half hour (1½ ) duration which will carry 100 marks.  The question paper will be of objective type (Bilingual) and include questions on Reasoning [35 marks], General Knowledge/Current Affairs [50 marks] & Numerical Ability [15 marks] respectively.

INTERVIEW:

After the Written Test candidates will be called for interview on the basis of the merit in the Written Test. The Interview will carry 10 marks.
            Additional Bonus Marks :
            a.  1 mark for NCC 'B' certificate;
            b.  2 marks for NCC - 'C' certificate;       
            c.  3 marks to candidates who measure 178 cms height or above;

 SUB-INSPECTOR (EXECUTIVE) IN DELHI POLICE EXAM

Staff Selection Commission holds a combined competitive examination for recruitment of Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police.
Age limit : 20 to 25 years.

Plan of Examination

Other Information Regarding Plan of Examination: Note: Paper I will be of "Objective-Multiple-Choice Type" to be added in the total marks while determining the merit list.
