Please let me know how to start studying for the aptitude?

Please let me know how to start studying for the aptitude.. What references should we follow.

Everybody who are preparing for public sector tests should have a copy of R.S. Agarwal's book in their shelf.. This is good for aptitude.. but need to refer other books for reasoning type questions.. I htink R S Agarwal's another book is available for reasoning also.

should i prepare according to old pattern ( one optional + GS in prelims ) and two subjects in MAINS + language + interview. or the new one which includes ( GS + aptitude in prelims ) and eight subjects in MAINS + interview which includes group discussion 150 + 150 marks distribution for interview.
