Applications are invited from the interested candidates fulfilling the following norms and having aptitude to carry out research work at NESAC, Umiam as per the details given below:

Junior Research Fellow

(‘Developing remote sensing based methodology for collecting agricultural statistics in NE hilly region')

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: Essential - 1st Class M.Sc. in Agriculture/Botany/Geology/ Geography/RS&GIS
    Desirable- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in RS &GIS and/or working experience in satellite remote sensing, GIS, GPS etc

Junior Research Fellow

(Natural Resources Census-Soil Resource Mapping-50K (NRS-SRM))

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: Essential - 1st Class M.Sc in Agriculture (Soil Science).
    Desirable- Specialization in Pedology is preferable
    Experience in Soil Survey & mapping especially in soil profile study

Junior Research Fellow

(Flood Early Warning System (FLEWS)/ Disaster Management Support Programme (DMSP))

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: Essential - BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Civil Engineering with specialization in Hydrology/Water resources/ Environmental Engineering etc. or M.Sc in Geography/Geology/ Environmental Science with specialization in fluvial geomorphology/river morphology etc
    Desirable- Conversant with satellite remote sensing & GIS/GPS as well as field work related to hydrological studies

Junior Research Fellow

(Hazard Risk Vulnerability Analysis (HRVA))

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: Essential - M.Sc in Geology/Applied Geology/Geography/ Environmental Science.
    Desirable- Conversant with RS & GIS Techniques as well as with GPS Survey.

Junior Research Fellow

(Hazard Risk Vulnerability Analysis (HRVA))

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: Essential - BE/ME/M.Tech in Civil Engineering
    Desirable- Conversant with RS & GIS Techniques as well as with GPS Survey.

Junior Research Fellow

(“Preparation of RS & GIS based inputs for Forest Working Plan for the States of North Eastern Region”)

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: M.Sc in Botany/Ecology/ Forestry/Agricultural statistics/ RS & GIS
    Desirable- Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Remote Sensing & GIS and/or working experience in Satellite Remote, GIS/GPS etc

Junior Research Fellow

(Atmospheric Science Programme)

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc in Agriculture/Geography/ Environmental Science/RS&GIS.
    Desirable- Working experience in Image Processing and GIS Software.

Junior Research Fellow

(Space Based Information Support-Decentralized Planning (SIS-DP) Project for the entire NER)

  • Number of Posts: 01

  • Qualification: 1st Class BE/B.Tech/M.Tech (IT/Comp. Sc.)
    Desirable- Knowledge of GIS/WebGIS/ Image processing software, Web technologies tools (ASP.NET, PHP, Java etc.) RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL server etc.), Programming languages (Java, C/C++ etc.)

Fellowship:

  • Fellowship amount: `16,000/- plus HRA 20%. In addition HRA and medical benefits will be allowed as per rules.

  • A minimum of 60% marks at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels are required for all candidates.

  • The period of the Fellowship is co-terminus with the period of the project.

Age:

  • Age for all the fellowships should not be more than 30 years as on the last date (31.03.2011) of receipt of Applications. Age relaxations to SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be admissible as per rules.

Important Instructions:

  1. Candidates working in Government/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Organisations should apply through proper channel.
  2. Applications should be accompanied with attested true copies of qualifications/experience/proof of date of birth/caste etc. along with marks certificates of all examinations and a recent passport size photograph.
  3. Candidates should submit separate application form for each post.
  4. Applications received after due date/without enclosures/incomplete shall be rejected.
  5. Mere fulfillment of the qualitative requirements of the post will not entail a candidate to be called for interview.
  6. NESAC reserve the right not to award any of the Fellowship, if it so decides.

The completed applications supported by attested copies of all the certificates and testimonials should reach the Administrative Officer, North Eastern Space Applications Centre, Umiam-793103, Meghalaya latest by 31.03.2011. The applications should be sent in a cover superscribed “Application for the Fellowship of “________________________________”, Post Code “_________”, ADVERTISEMENT NO. NESAC/RMT-JRF/01/2011 dated March 9, 2011. Candidates are advised to send their applications by registered post/speed post on their own interest.
