Applications in prescribed format are invited from the Citizens of India for filling up of 13 (thirteen) posts of District Statistics Officer/ Research Officer, Group-B (Gazetted) Non-Ministerial under the Department of Economic and Statistics, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, carrying a scale of pay of pay band Rs.9300-34,800+ G.P. Rs. 4600/- and other allowances as admissible to Arunachal Pradesh Govt. Employees from time to time. Out of 13(thirteen) posts, 11(eleven) posts are Reserved for APST of which 1(one) post is Reserved for person with disability (APST) candidates( one leg, one arm, hearing handicapped, blind , low vision categories) and rest 2(two) posts are Un-reserved. The vacancy position is subject to variation.


Candidates applying for the post of District Statistic Officer/Research Officer must posses Master’s Degree in Statistics / Mathematics /Economics/ Commerce from a recognized University. Candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as on 25.03.2011 However, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of APST candidates and another 5 years for being Arunachal Pradesh Govt. employees.

Method of Selection:

The eligible candidates will be required to appear in the Written Examination to be conducted by the Commission consisting of the following subjects which will be followed by Viva Voce Test.

General English 100 Marks
General Studies 100 Marks
One Optional Subject (Economics/Statistics/Mathematics/Commerce) 100 Marks
Viva-voce Test 40 Marks
Total 340 Marks

The candidates securing a minimum of 33% of marks in each written examination paper and 45% marks in aggregate of the total marks in the written examination papers will be eligible for Viva Voce Test.
The selection will be made on the basis of performances in the written examination and the Viva Voce Test.

How To Apply:

Alongwith the application form candidates must enclose a Treasury Challan of Rs.80/- for General candidates and Rs. 20/- for APST candidates under the Head of Account 0051-PSC to be drawn at Itanagar (which is non-refundable) in favour of the Secretary , Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Itanagar, and 3(three) nos. of recent passport size photographs dully self attested and copies of documents in support of Age, Educational Qualification, Experience, Tribe etc.

Prescribed Application Format:

The application form and syllabus for the above post can be obtained from the Office of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Itanagar on all working days from 10.00 AM to 4.00PM on payment of Rs.100/- upto 25.03.2011.

Candidates should ensure that the following attested documents are enclosed with the application form.

  1. 3 (Three) Nos of self attested photos (one to be pasted in the space provided in the application form another in the space provided in the attendance sheet and third one for admit card).
  2. Cl-X Passed Certificate (CBSE/State Board)
  3. Master’s Degree Certificate in Statistics/ Mathematics / Economics / Commerce Certificate (issued by the University authority i.e Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examination only will be accepted ) .
  4. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from concerned department (in case of candidate already in the Govt. Service).
  5. Treasury Challan of Rs.20/- for APST and Rs. 80/- for General candidates.
  6. Disability certificate from an authorized Medical Board in which one of the members should be a specialist of the particular category of disability for which the certificate is sought.

The last date of receiving application by the Commission is upto 25.03.2011 till 4.00 P.M.
