Good Governance – The word ‘Government’ connotes a static meaning i.e. an institution. But the word GOVERNANCE has a connotation of dynamism. The ultimate aim is to deliver the goods and services to the people. The word ‘Good’ has an ethical connotation and this basic understanding of the term is important for you in applying it in your answers.

New Public Management- It simply means a ‘NEW’ style of managing the public sector. This new style of management is nothing but the application of 3E’s-Efficiency, Effectiveness and Economy. This implies accountability and value for money and citizen’s charters and RTI are the tools for establishing this new style of management skills in public sector.
