Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship 2009 2010
Sir Ratan Tata Foundation at the London School of
Economics & Political Science (LSE) invites
applications for the ‘Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship.’ The fellowship
will be for a period of eight months, preferably starting October 1,
2009, and will be based at the Asia Research Centre at the LSE. The
fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1500
a month, the exact amount depending on qualifications; and will be
provided with office space and access to research facilities at the
School.
Requirements: Applicants should be established scholars in
the social sciences with experience of research on South Asia; hold
a PhD or comparable qualifications and experience. The Fellowship is
open to candidates from the SAARC region. The topic of research
should be under the following themes – poverty, inequality, human
development and social exclusion; quality of public life; regional
disparities; identities – gender, ethnicity, language or economy
and environment with preference given to topics that focus on
contemporary social and economic concerns of South Asia. Details on
