Saloon owner's son has topped IFS Examination, 2009
The son of a saloon owner here has topped the Indian Forest Service
Examination, 2009 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
"The financial background of a student, I think, is irrelevant for success in
examinations," the topper, Sangram Keshari Behera of Ainabandha Street in Old
Berhampur area, said.
Chief minister Naveen congratulated Sangram for his outstanding performance in
the UPSC examination. "Sangram's success has brought pride for the entire
state," Patnaik said.
A gold medallist in Zoology from Berhampur University in 2008, Behera, tasted
success in his second attempt.
He had unsuccessfully appeared in the first all India competitive examination in
2008 and the Civil Service examination in the same year.
"Though I was unsuccessful in the two examinations, I had gathered much
experience out of my failure and they helped me a lot in my second attempt,"
Behera said.
