Directions: In each questions below is given a Statement: followed by two Assumptions numbered I and II. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted. You have to consider the Statements and the following Assumptions and decide  which of the Assumptions is implicit in the Statements? Give answer

(a) If only assumption I is implicit
(b) If only assumption II is implicit
(c) If neither I nor II is implicit
(d) If both I and II are implicit

1. Statement: “Invest in our regular scheme and earn an interest of at least 10%”. Advertisement by a financial institution.

Assumptions:
I. 10% interest may attract a good number of investors.
II. No other scheme offers interest as high as 10%.

2. Statement: “For easier and faster communication, use our broadcast connections”. An advertisement.

Assumptions:
I. Many people are looking up for best communication facilities.
II. Broad band connections are preferred mode of communication.

3. Statement: “Youmust refer to learn to dictionary, if you want to become a good writer”-A advises B.

Assumptions:
I.
Only writers refer to the dictionary.
II. All writers, good or bad, refer to the dictionary.

4. Statement: If it does not rain throughout this month, most farmers would be in trouble this year.

Assumptions:
I. Timely rain is essential for farming.
II. Most of the farmers are generally dependent on rains.

Assumptions:

9. Statement: Detergents should be used to clean clothes.

Assumptions:
I. Detergents form more lather.
II. Detergents help to dislodge grease and dirt.

10. Statement: Most people who stop smoking gain weight.

Assumptions:
I. If one stops smoking, one will gain weight.
II. If one does not stop smoking, one will not gain weight.

11. Statement: Postal rates have been increased to meet the deficit.

Assumptions:
I. The present rates are very low.
II. If the rates are not increased, the deficit can not be met.

12. Statement: If degrees are declined with jobs, boys will think thrice before joining college.

Assumptions:
I. Students join college education for getting jobs.
II. A degree is of no use for getting a job.

Assumptions:
I. Discount offer is bound to attract good students as well.
II. Even those students who cannot afford to pay the fees of coaching classes may join this class.

20. Statement: If you want to get a good job you must have at least the basic knowledge of computers.

Assumptions:
I. All good jobs involve use of computers.
II. Computer knowledge has been made an essential criterion by most of the companies now a days.
