Directions: In each questions below is given a Statement: followed by two Assumptions numbered I and II. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted. You have to consider the Statements and the following Assumptions and decide which of the Assumptions is implicit in the Statements?

Give answer

(a) If only assumption I is implicit
(b) If only assumption II is implicit
(c) If neither I nor II is implicit
(d) If both I and II are implicit

1. Statement: “Invest in our regular scheme and earn an interest of at least 10%”. Advertisement by a financial institution.

Assumptions:

I. 10% interest may attract a good number of investors.

II. No other scheme offers interest as high as 10%.

2. Statement: “For easier and faster communication, use our broadcast connections”. An advertisement.

Assumptions:

I. Many people are looking up for best communication facilities.

II. Broad band connections are preferred mode of communication.

3. Statement: “You must refer to learn to dictionary, if you want to become a good writer”-A advises B.

Assumptions:

I. Only writers refer to the dictionary.

II. All writers, good or bad, refer to the dictionary.

4. Statement: If it does not rain throughout this month, most farmers would be in trouble this year.

Assumptions:

I. Timely rain is essential for farming.

II. Most of the farmers are generally dependent on rains.
