(Success Story) Aparajita Priyadarshini Behera AIR-13 in
Indian Economic Service (IES) 2015
24-year-old girl of the district has secured 13th position in the Indian
Economic Service (IES) examination conducted by the UPSC.
Daughter of a landless daily wager, who works at a fertiliser plant in
Paradip, Aparajita Priyadarshini Behera of Mohanangala village under
Mahakalapada block is pursuing Phd in Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Talking to this paper from New Delhi, Aparajita said,
“Despite financial constraints, my father fulfilled all my requirements and
nourished a dream to see me as a distinguished person. His restless hard work
has finally paid off.”
A student of Mohanangala Primary and Kapileswar High School,
Aparajita completed her Plus Two and Plus Three from Marshaghai college. She was
a college topper and went on to pursue Post-Graduation in Economics in Utkal
Quality hard work and strong determination are important in
achieving one’s goal, she said and added that her motto is to serve the country
with honesty. Her delighted father Amulya Behera said despite financial
hardship, he did not neglect the education of his son and two daughters.
“Aparajita used to study for six to seven hours daily. On
Wednesday night, she informed us over telephone that she secured 13th position
in the IES examination. We all are on cloud nine,” said Aparajita’s mother
