Topper : Hamirpur(HP) girl grabs second rank in IFS exams
A girl from a tiny village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh- Miss Basu Kaushal has brought sudden attention to her state by securing Second Rank in India for the Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS) held in the year 2007. The results which were declared yesterday made her family proud of her.
Daughter of Mr. P.C., Kaushal, a Divisional Forest Officer, she did her schooling from Sacred Heart High School, Dharmshala and later on joined DAV Model School, Chandigarh. She had joined the Punjab University from where she completed her MSc in Botany. A topper from a long time, Miss Basu has also received a number of awards, certificates. She had taken Botany and Agriculture as hr subjects in IFS exam.
Her inspiration being her father and grandfather, she will join the IFS academy at Deharadun in July. What is worth mentioning is that only four students from northern India has qualified the IFS examination.
