Free Training Centre to be established for IAS Aspirant in TN's Districts

In order to encourage Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) aspirants in the district, a special training centre will be established here which will function with the help of higher educational institutions and the government," said Collector M. Valallar.

While inaugurating an exhibition on career guidance and a seminar held at M.V.M. Government Arts College for Women recently he announced that training of the aspirants would be free of cost.

Government mulls "limited" competitive examination to recruit more IPS officers

Concerned by the acute shortage of IPS officers at a time of mounting challenges on the internal security front, the home ministry is mulling the option of a holding "limited" competitive examination exclusively to recruit IPS officers -- a route that was taken immediately after Independence to fill huge vacancies that had accumulated through the War years and because of the departure of British cops to UK and Muslim cops to Pakistan.

The examination will be open only for existing government servants -- mainly from armed services, paramilitary and state police forces -- and will be held for the specific purpose of recruiting nearly 650 IPS officers.

RRB Bhopal Recruitment Selection Procedure

SELECTION PROCEDURE

RRB calls for eligible applicants through "Employment News" (A publication of the Government of India). The publication of employment notification has been started recently on the Internet website. The applications are scrutinized for eligibility and the eligible candidates are called for a written examination with call letters being sent a month in advance of the date of the examination. The examinations are generally held in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai-Durg depending upon the number of candidates. If the candidates are in large numbers, the exam may be held in Nagpur & Indore as necessary.

In most categories of jobs, there is no interview after the written examination. For a very few specific categories there is a viva after the written exam, while for certain other categories there is a skill test like typing test or stenography test. For categories related to operational safety like Asst. Station Master, Asst. Loco Pilot, there will be an aptitude test.

The application details furnished by successful candidates are verified and they are called for counselling and scrutiny of original documents. A panel of names is then recommended to Zonal Railways to the extent of vacancies. The candidates will be required to pass a medical examination conducted by the Railways before appointment.

RESULTS  The results of selection at every stage will be made available.

  • on the Notice Board of RRB

  • in "The Employment News" and various news papers, both local & national

(Article) The Power of Positive Talk by Dr. Abdul Kalam

The Power of Positive Talk by Dr. Abdul Kalam

I remember my dad teaching me the power of language at a very young age. Not only did my dad understand that specific words affect our mental pictures, but he understood words are a powerful programming factor in lifelong success.

One particularly interesting event occurred when I was eight. As a kid, I was always climbing trees, poles, and literally hanging around upside down from the rafters of our lake house. So, it came to no surprise for my dad to find me at the top of a 30-foot tree swinging back and forth. My little eight-year-old brain didn't realize the tree could break or I could get hurt. I just thought it was fun to be up so high.

Dr. Abul KalamMy older cousin, Tammy, was also in the same tree. She was hanging on the first big limb, about ten feet below me. Tammy's mother also noticed us at the exact time my dad did. About that time a huge gust of wind came over the tree. I could hear the leaves start to rattle and the tree begin to sway. I remember my dad's voice over the wind yell, "Bart, Hold on tightly." So I did. The next thing I know, I heard Tammy screaming at the top of her lungs, laying flat on the ground. She had fallen out of the tree.
