GEOLOGISTS’ EXAMINATION, 2012

No.4/1/2012-E.I(B) : A competitive examination for recruitment to the posts mentioned in para 2 below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing from the 1st December, 2012 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Mines in the Gazette of India dated the 15th September, 2012 at the following centres.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:

Nationality

A candidate must be either :
(a) a Citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limits : A candidate for this examination must have attained the age criteria as prescribed below:-

(a) (i) For Geologist [Group A] and Assistant Geologist Gr. I [Gr.B] in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines:- Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2012 i.e. he/ she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1980 and not later than 1st August 1991.

(ii) For Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) (Group A) in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources:- Must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 35 years on 1st August, 2012 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1977 and not later than 1st August, 1991.

FEE :

Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
