Coaching for IAS, IPS, Preliminary Examination – 2009

Applications are invited from candidates of Tamil Nadu, desirous to undergo coaching for the U.P.S.C. (Civil Services) Preliminary Examination, 2009.

Coaching will be conducted for 6 months at the centre from December, 2008. Those who have already undergone coaching in this Institute under regular stream for Preliminary or Main Examination or who have already written I.A.S., Main examination need not apply.

1) Residential and Non-residential (Part time-Evening) Streams :

Coaching is of two kinds: Full time (Residential and Part time - Evening (Non residential) for the different categories as below:

Eligibility: Degree from a recognized University

Age Limit (As on 01.08.2009): Minimum 21 years for all candidates, Maximum 30 years for General Candidates, 33 years for Backward Classes / BC-C/ BC-M/MBC/DNC and 35 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Fees:
(a) Free Coaching for the Residential Stream, except candidates of “Other Community” who shall pay a nominal fee of Rs. 1000/- only for the entire course.

(b) Candidates, selected for part-time course are not eligible for hostel accommodation and have to pay a nominal fee of Rs. 1,000/- for Coaching under General Studies and Rs. 500/- for the Optional subject selected. Part time classes will be conducted from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Hostel Facilities (For Residential Stream):

Only those whose Parents / Guardian / Self Annual income does not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-(for SC/ST/BC/BC-C/BC-M/MBC/DNC students) will be exempted from boarding charges. Others will have to pay Rs. 800/- p.m.

Entrance Examination centres : Chennai, Chidambaram, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Salem, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Vellore, and Sivagangai (Choose any one of the Centres)

Application Enclosures : Xerox copies of Community Certificate, Degree Certificate, and one self addressed stamped envelope (Rs.5/-) should be enclosed along with the application. One photo should be affixed at the right hand corner of the application and another should be sent with the name written on the back side of the photo in a small cover along with the application.

Entrance Examination:
Eligible candidates will have to appear for a Competitive Entrance Examination for two hours with Objective type questions on Indian History, Indian Economy, Indian Polity, Geography, Arithmetic, General Science and Current affairs at 10.30 A.M. on 9.11.08 (Sunday) Qualified candidates in each category will be called for admission. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the Entrance Examination. Copy of the model question paper and other details are available at our website.
