Applications in the prescribed format given below are invited from Indian Citizens and such other nationals as are declared eligible by Govt. of India for recruitment to the undermentioned posts. Posts at Serial No. 2 & 3 are temporary (likely to be permanent). All other posts are permanent. The number of vacancy may increase.

1. Chemical Examiner:

  • Pay Scale: Rs.37,400/- - 60,000/-(PB-5) with Grade Pay of Rs.9,500/-
  • Qualifications: (i) 1st Class Master Degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry with Honours in Chemistry in Bachelor Degree or its equivalent. ii) Minimum 15 years’ experience in a senior position of an analytical laboratory of repute and having sound knowledge of handling modern analytical instruments. iii) Doctorate Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry, (iv) Adequate administrative experience of working in an analytical laboratory of repute.
  • Age: Not more than 50 years as on 01.01.2011 relaxable for candidate having higher qualifications and/ or longer experience than those prescribed as essential qualifications.

2. Deputy Director:

  • Pay Scale: Rs.9, 000/- - 40,500/- /-(PB-4) with Grade Pay Rs.6, 600/-
  • Qualifications: (a) Master degree in Animal Husbandry or Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and having registration with the West Bengal Veterinary Council constituted under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984). (b) 8(eight) years’ experience in total in the Field/Farm disease investigation in laboratory, experience in the State Government/Central Government Farms or in the State Government Undertaking Farms/Central Government Undertaking Farms or in any Joint Sector Farms under the control of State Government/Central Government.
  • Age: Not more than 50 years on 01.01.2011.

3. Lecture:

Architecture:

  • Qualifications: ( i) 1 st class Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent; (ii) Two years’ experience in Teaching/ Research/ Industry; (iii) Special Knowledge in one or more subjects in Architecture; (iv) Good power of expression in Bengali – spoken and written.

Instrumentation Technology:

  • Qualifications: (i)1st Class Bachelor’s Degree or a 1st Class Post Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engg./ Technology or 1st Class Diploma in Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. or Electrical Engg. with post-diploma qualifications in Instrumentation Engg./ Technology, or any equivalent qualification, (ii) 2(two) years experience in teaching/ research/ industry after acquiring the essential qualifications mentioned above. (iii) Special knowledge in process control, instrumentation or Micro- Processor Controlled instrumentation. (iv) Good power of expression in Bengali/ Nepali – Spoken and Written
  • Age: Not more than 35 years on 01.01.2011, relaxable for specially qualified and experienced candidates and for persons holding substantive appointment under the Govt.
  • Pay Scale: For the posts at 3(A) & (B) above :- Rs.9, 000/- - 40,500/- (PB-4) with Grade Pay Rs.5, 400/-

4. Assistant Mistress (Bengali Medium)

6. Assistant Mistress English (Bengali Medium)

Pay Scale:  For all the posts at item no.4,5, & 6 Rs.9,000/- - Rs.40,500/-/- (PB-4) with Grade Pay Rs.4,800/- for candidates with Master’s Degree and Rs.9,000/- - Rs.40,500/- /-(PB-4) with Grade Pay Rs.4,700/- for candidates with Honours Degree.

Qualifications: (a) Essential :(i) For all posts at i tem no. 4 (a & b), 5 & 6 Second Class Honours o r Second Class Master’s Degree from a recognised University in appropriate subject viz. Mathematics, Philosophy, Geography & English as the case may be. (ii) Knowledge in Bengali – Spoken & Written [For the posts at item no. 4(a &b)], & 5. & Knowledge in English – Spoken & Written [(For the posts at item no.6]. (b) Desirable : Degree in Teaching/Education or its equivalent (candidates not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected will draw the initial pay of time scale on an ad-hoc basis till obtaining the same.)

Age:  For all the posts at Item No. 4 to 6 : Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2011, relaxable upto 35 years for specially well-qualified and experienced candidates and for persons holding substantive appointment in the
Teaching branch of Education Department, West Bengal.
 

7. Sub-Editor

  • Pay Scale: Pay Band - 4, Rs.9,000/- - Rs.40,500/-/-(PB-4) with Grade Pay Rs.4,400/-.
  • Qualifications: (a) Essential : ( i) A n H onours D egree f rom a r ecognised U niversity. ( i i) 2 (two) y ears’ experience as Sub-Editor or Working Journalist in any media house of repute; or 2(two) years’ experience as mass communication practitioner in the Public Relations Wing of Government, Semi-Government Organisation or/and Corporate House or Reputed Advertisement Agencies with experience of bringing out-house journals and publicity materials in Print Media. (iii) Knowledge, experience and ability to prepare original manuscripts in Nepali and reproductions of illustrations. (iv) Knowledge, experience and ability to translate from English to Nepali and viceversa. (v) Thorough knowledge and ability of proof reading in Nepali. (vi) Knowledge, experience and ability to undertake and supervise computer aided page designing.
  • Age: Not more than 35 years as on 01.01.2011. Relaxable at the discretion of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal for candidates having higher qualifications and/or longer experience than those prescribed in the rules.

8. Drawing Master (English Medium)

  • Pay Scale: (i) Rs. 7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- /-(PB-3) with Grade Pay Rs. 4,100/- for Diploma holders from Government College of Art and Craft and (ii) Rs. 7,100/- - Rs. 37,600/- (PB-3) with Grade Pay Rs. 3,900/- for other Diploma holders.
  • Qualifications: (i) Diploma in Art from Govt. College of Art and Craft or from Kala Bhawan, Viswa Bharati or equivalent; ii) Proficiency in more than one branch of craft; (iii) Knowledge in English – Spoken & Written.
  • Age: Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2011,. relaxable upto 35 years for specially well-qualified and experienced candidates and for persons holding substantive appointment in the teaching branch of Education Department, West Bengal.
