Recruitment of Junior Engineers, Tripura Public Service Commission

Applications are invited in prescribed Form from the eligible citizens of India for selection of candidates on the basis of Written Combined Competitive Examination followed by an Interview-Cum-Personality Test against vacancies for direct recruitment to the posts of (i) Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(A) & Junior Engineer Grade-I(Group-B Non-Gazetted) and (ii)Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(B) & Junior Engineer-Grade-II (Group-C NonGazetted) in different branches under Public Works Department & Rural Development Department, Govt. of Tripura.

Educational Qualification :

For Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(A) & Junior Engineer Grade-I(Group-B Non-Gazetted), a candidate must have at least a Degree in an appropriate Branch of Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent academic qualification.
For Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(B) & Junior Engineer-Grade-II (Group-C Non-Gazetted), a candidate must have a Diploma in an appropriate Branch of Engineering or its equivalent academic qualification from recognized Institutions.

Age Limit :

18 years to 40 years as on 15.05.2013. Relaxable by 5(five) years in case of ST/ SC/ Physically Handicapped persons and Govt. Servants, provided that the Govt. servants belonging to SC / ST/ Physically Handicapped persons shall not get this relaxation over and above the general relaxation of 5 (five) years available to them.

Pay Scale :

For Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(A) & Junior Engineer Grade-I (Group-B Non-Gazetted) : Rs.9,570 - 30,000/- PB-3 Plus G.P - Rs.3500
For Junior Engineer, TES Grade-V(B) & Junior Engineer-Grade-II (Group-C Non-Gazetted) : Rs.5,310 - 24,000/- PB-2 Plus G.P - Rs.2400

Application Fee:

for Group-B Posts : Rs.150/- only for General Candidates & Rs. 100/- for ST/ SC/ BPL card holders/Physically Handicapped Candidates.
for Group C posts : Rs.100/- for General candidates & Rs.50/- for ST/SC/ BPL card holders/Physically Handicapped Candidates.

If Application Form obtained through Branches/Extension counters of Tripura Gramin Bank in the State of Tripura, the fee must be deposited through the Special Deposit Slip to the Account No. 14711 in favour of the Secretary, T.P.S.C.

If Application is downloaded from website the prescribed Recruitment Fee is to be paid to the Account No.31176521319 of the State Bank of India (core banking branches) in favour of the Secretary, Tripura Public Service Commission.

Important Information :

The number of post to be filled in may increase or decrease.
The last date of receiving application is 15.05.2013. The applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.
Examination:
i) The Written Examination carrying 500 marks shall consists of 1(one) compulsory paper titled “General Studies” of one hour duration carrying 100 marks and 2(two) Optional Papers in the appropriate branch of engineering of 3 hours duration carrying 200 marks each.
Questions in all the papers shall be answered in English only. Qualifying marks shall be 40% and 30% in each subject for candidates of unreserved and reserved
category respectively.
ii) The qualified candidates will be called to appear at the Interview-cum-Personality Test carrying 50 marks.
iii) The merit panel will be prepared taking into account marks obtained in Written Examination and Interview-cum-Personality Test.
Syllabus and other information: The detailed syllabus and other necessary information in respect of Combined Competitive Written Examination for direct recruitment to the said posts may be downloaded from the website of the T.P.S.C www.tpsc.gov.in.
SC/ST Candidates of other States (not recognized by the Govt. of Tripura) should apply for unreserved vacancy as general candidate along with recruitment fee
prescribed for general candidates.
Application in the prescribed form duly filled in by the candidate and 2(two) copies of recent stamp size photographs of the candidate affixed on the Application and Admit Card along with the copies of self attested certificates, self addressed envelope bearing postage stamp of Rs. 5/- (rupees five) is to be submitted to the Reception Counter of the TPSC Secretariat by 5.00 PM of the closing date 15.05.2013. Applicants may obtain the acknowledgement including Receipt Number from reception counter of the Commission.
The candidates, who will send application by post, are also required to attach to the application; a self-addressed Post-card indicating the Advertisement No. and name of the post applied for. Application will be acknowledged by the Commission by returning this card to the candidate after indicating the Registration No. allotted to the candidate. No separate acknowledgement other than this card will be sent to them.
Any application incomplete in any form or defective or containing statements which are incorrect or false or if there is any suppression of facts, is liable to be summarily rejected. If such discrepancies are detected even at the subsequent stage, it is also liable to be rejected. No correspondence or queries from applicants will be entertained.
Decision of the Commission as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate at any stage of the selection process shall be final.
Assessment and evaluation of the answer scripts done by the Commission shall be final and shall not be open to scrutiny by any external authority.
Date, time and venue of Examination/ Interview cum Personality Test will be notified in due course.
