It was very tough to achieve place in Civil Services was a past story, but now students from rural background proved it wrong, says Dr. DP Agarwal, Chairman Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He was in city to address a seminar on Inclusive Growth and Social Tensions held at Andhra University.

He appreciated the education system in Andhra Pradesh and congratulated the academic criteria which is now in action. At early stage, the system of examination in UPSC was tough for which students from rural background and common coaching centers were not in a stage to think about it.

UPSC has made few changes in its pattern so that a common student can compete with others. Attempting the examination in regional languages gave good results in Civils examination, he added.
