BJP leader demanded CBI inquiry into Kashmir Administrative Service main exams

Alleging that the autonomous Public Service Commission was working under political interference, a senior BJP leader today demanded a CBI inquiry into charges of "favouritism and biased results" of Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) main examinations."PSC is working under political interference. We demand a CBI inquiry into favouritism and biased results of KAS Main examinations," BJP National Executive member and former BJP State President Nirmal Singh told reporters here. He demanded that a white paper be published to list the working of PSC since 1975 and that two separate Public Service Commissions be set up to end discrimination against Jammu region in selection process.

Singh said that though 5000 candidates from Jammu and 3500 from Kashmir appeared in KAS main examination, the 1260 candidates declared passed included 76 per cent candidates from Kashmir mostly with Urdu subject. He alleged that PSC violated UPSC guidelines by giving reasonable choice in Urdu paper, in which there were 13 questions and candidates had to attempt only 6, while in Anthropology paper they had to attempt 5 out of 6 questions.
