Union Budget allocates Rs 170 crore for UPSC
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has allotted Rs 170 crore for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The funds will be utilised for expenditure on salaries and allowances of the chairman, members and establishment of the UPSC. Besides, the administrative expenses and the expenditure related to conduct of the examinations by the Commission will also be covered.
Last year's Union budget had earmarked Rs 166.64 crore for the same.
The UPSC conducts the following examinations:
- Civil Services Examination,
- Engineering Services Examination,
- Combined Defence Services Examination,
- National Defence Academy Examination,
- Naval Academy Examination,
- Combined Medical Services Examination,
- Special Class Railway Apprentice,
- Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination,
- Geologists' Examination,
- Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) Examination
