The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the Civil Services Mains examination by a month
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the civil services Mains examination by a month. While the examination was initially scheduled to be conducted from November 5, as per the new dates the examination will now be held for five days starting December 1.
Previously, the examination used to be held for a period of 20 days or more. Now, the entire process has been reduced to less than a week, observers said. "This is on account of the changes introduced in the examination. As there are more compulsory papers and only one optional, the entire process can be completed much faster," said Gopal Krishna, director, Brain Tree coaching centre. The reduced time-frame will be a major advantage for the working professionals as they need only a few days of leave to appear for the examination, he added.
