Tamilnadu PSC to inaugrate Rural IAS Coaching Academy (KRIASCA) at Krashnagiri
Krishnagiri Rural IAS Coaching Academy (KRIASCA), will be inaugurated on Friday.
A.M. Kasi Viswanathan, Chairman, Tamilnadu Public Service Commission will inaugurate the academy at the Old Polytechnic premises on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway.
V.K. Shanmugam, District Collector told The Hindu that his dream of creating such an academy in the educationally-backward district is taking final shape after a year of his joining duty in the district.
He said the initial intake would be about 30 students. The number would be increased depending on the interest shown by IAS and IPS aspirants.
A committee has been formed for this purpose under the chairmanship of the Collector. It includes renowned professors of the government colleges in the district. Services of the academic experts, working and retired IAS, IPS officers would also be available.
Working IAS and IPS officers would visit the academy as visiting professors and give hands-on training to the participants.
Darez Ahmed, Additional Collector (Development), and A. Shanmugasundaram, District Revenue Officer (In-charge) have promised to donate books and magazines to the academy.
Candidates would be selected on the basis of the entrance test to be held on October 20 in Krishnagiri.
Intending candidates can register their names with C. Prakasam, Personal Assistant to Collector (General), Room No. 83, First Floor at the Collectorate on or before October 19, Dr. Shanmugam added.
