(Success Story) 60 Candidates from Maharashtra have qualified UPSC Main 2010

https://iasexamportal.com/images/upsc.JPGMore than 60 candidates from across Maharashtra have qualified for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this year. The result of the prestigious civil services exam was declared on Wednesday. Rahul Rekhawar, a resident of Nanded, is the highest ranker from the state with an all India rank of 15. In Pune, Ayush Oak got an all India rank of 42 and in Thane, Rugred Thakur was ranked at 67.

A total of 920 candidates, including 203 women, were selected for the civil services. A total of 2,69,036 candidates appeared for the preliminary examination, which was conducted on May 23, 2010. Of these, 12,491 candidates qualified for the written examination held in October- November 2010.

“I was expecting a rank, but not 42. I will easily qualify for IAS. This was my third attempt. In the earlier two attempts, I cleared the main exams but did not qualify in the interview,” said Oak, an engineer from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), Pune.
