(Success Story) Sakshi Goyal (AIR Rank - 175) for Civil Services Examination 2013

Already working as a Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officer, a girl from Rajpura town of Patiala district has cracked the Indian civil services exams, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Sakshi Goyal, 25, who is working as an assistant registrar, department of cooperation of Punjab government, has secured 175 rank in the examination.

In 2012, she had cleared the PCS exam in the first attempt and secured 77th rank.

Sakshi, who has done her BSc (hons) in bio-informatics from SD College, Chandigarh, cleared the exam in her fourth attempt.

"I had reached up to the interview level in the previous two attempts but could not clear it. But this time, I was confident. I am happy that my hard work of past several years has paid off. Whichever post I will be selected for, I will work for the betterment of society," Sakshi told TOI.

Her father is a senior manager in Oriental Bank of Commerce and mother is a Punjabi lecturer in Government Senior Secondary School, Rajpura.
