UTSAV ANAND'S UPSC PREPARATION STRATEGY

CAN I PREPARE FOR UPSC  EXAM FROM MY HOME?

Utsav said it is possible. He had also prepared for this exam from his home itself. You can buy books online. Every successful candidate has studied the same set of books as lakh of aspirants do every year. The difference is that they plan their studies and execute those plans well. They practice writing. They take tests. They are confident. If you think that you are lacking in any subject then go for coaching otherwise you can rely on self study also. Utkarsh said aspirants who study systematically and consistently, get into service. If you also do the same, you will be one among them. Don’t have fears even before you start. You must enter the race and work hard to win it.

UNDERSTAND THE SYLLABUS

Utkarsh advised the aspirants, understand the UPSC syllabus. An accurate understanding of the nature, clarity, and scope of the syllabus is extremely important for good preparation. It helps in understanding what to read and what not to read. The questions asked in the UPSC exam are always within the syllabus and hence keeping a close eye on the syllabus is fundamental.

FOCUS ON PYQS AND MOCK TESTS

Utkarsh said, aspirants must go through the previous year's question papers. It helps in determining the type of questions, and also helps in identifying the best source of reading study material. An analysis of previous year's papers helps in understanding the syllabus in a better perspective, and helps identify the areas from which more questions have been asked. He also focused more on PYQs.

Mock tests are extremely important. These tests not only help aspirants in preparing for the mains, but also help in learning time management. Practise answer writing on a daily basis. He used to pick up an editorial from a newspaper or a topic from the syllabus, and frame a question on it and write its answer in his own language.

At last Utkarsh advised the aspirants strategy is important. A proper strategy is an extensive plan about what you are doing, how you are doing it and what resources you need. Last, but not the least, is proper care for your health.
