(Success Story) UPSC Topper 2015 - Artika Shukla (AIR-04)


Varanasi woman Artika Shukla, 25, made her city proud by securing fourth rank in the 2015 civil services examination in her first attempt. The results of the prestigious and one of the toughest exams were announced on Tuesday. She is a resident of Rohit Nagar, Naria.

“This is a great moment. I will work tirelessly for bringing a positive change in lives of the poor. I will be an honest officer with a difference as the god has given me a chance to serve the people. I will do it with utmost sincerity and dedication,” a jubilant Artika told HT.

“I want to see India on top of the world. As an IAS officer, I will make efforts for it,” she said.

She completed her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, in 2013. Soon after that she started preparations for the postgraduate course in medical science. She got success and took admission in MD paediatrics course at the SGPGI, Chandigarh.

Aritka quit her MD paediatrics course in November 2014. Before doing it, she sought advice of his elder brother Utkarsh Shukla, an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS). He encouraged her and asked her to go ahead.
