(Success Story) Varun Baranwal (AIR Rank - 32) for Civil Services Examination 2013

The results of the UPSC civil services exam of 2013 were announced on Thursday June 12, 2014. According to the results, 23-year-old Varun Baranwal, son of a cycle shop owner from Boisar in Thane (Maharashtra), secured third rank in the state and got an all-India rank of 32 in the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) examination in December, reports PTI.

In the past, Varun overcame his fair share of obstacles - he lost his father during his SSC exams in 2003 and almost quit Class 10 due to the same reason but got through with flying colors. He passed the SSC exam, gaining 89 per cent.

With his mother's continued support and encouragement, Varun Baranwal followed the science stream and later went on to pursue his dreams of getting a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from MIT College, Pune. Continuing to excel even at this point in his life, Varun was a gold medalist at his college.
