CHANDIGARH: Marriage is not a dampener for those who want to excel further in their life. Amaninder Kaur, a homemaker from Muktsar, has certainly proved this right, bagging first rank in the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) exams.

31 year old, Amaninder completed her schooling from Government Model Senior Secondary School in Sector 16. She got married to Advocate Harsharanjit Singh Brar last year in Bhagsar village of Muktsar, scored 708 marks out off 1,000.

An MSc topper in Zoology from Panjab University, Amaninder said, “I am very happy and surprised to get the first rank. My entire family has been very supportive all this while.”

"I always dreamt of becoming an officer and finally my dream has come true. I am also preparing for the UPSC exams," added Amaninder.
