Antibody Detection Kit - DRDO

• COVID-19 antibody detection kit developed by DRDO.

Key highlights:

• The DIPAS-VDx COVID-19 IgG Antibody Microwell ELISA for sero-surveillance is the name of the antibody detection kit. 
• It was developed by the Defense Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) of the DRDO Laboratory. The kit was created in collaboration with a New Delhi-based private sector development and manufacturing diagnostics firm.
• The DIPCOVAN kit can identify the SARS-CoV-2 virus’s spike and nucleocapsid (S&N) proteins. 
• It possesses a 97 percent sensitivity and a 99 percent specificity.
• DIPCOVAN has been approved by the ICMR. It has also gained regulatory permits for sale and distribution from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), and the Health Ministry.
