Mars 2020 Mission —Perseverance Rover

  • NASA’s Perseverance Rover in search of ancient life and to gather samples of rocks and soils from the red planet was launched on 30 July 2020 at 4:50 a.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station located in Florida. 

  • It is scheduled to land on 18 February 2021 and the landing site will be Jezero crater on Mars. The rover will explore the geologically diverse landing site and assess ancient habitability. The mission will pave the way for future human explorations.
