Unique Green Glow in Martian Atmosphere

• A unique green glow was observed for the first time on Mars, the first ever observation on a planet other than earth. This was observed by the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO), which has been orbiting Mars since October 2016.
• Oxygen atoms are responsible for the appearance of a green glow in the Martian atmosphere. The research has been published in Nature Astronomy.
