About :
All India Civil Services Coaching Centre, an unit of Anna Institute of Management,functions with the principal goal of promoting the needs of the young aspirants from Tamil Nadu to take up IAS, IPS, IFS etc. The Pre-Examination Training Centre established in the year 1966, to train SC/ST candidates and the Special Training Institute established in the year 1971 for Backward Class and Most Backward Class candidates were merged and renamed as All India Civil Services Coaching Centre in the year 2000.
The new centre at ‘Kanchi’, 163/1 P.S. Kumarasamy Raja Salai, R.A. Puram was built in the year 2012 at an estimated cost of Rs.10.14 crores, extending about 50843 sq.ft with 3 floors. Every year 325 aspirants (225 - Residential & 100 Non-Residential) undergo intensive, result-oriented, free-coaching with free boarding and food for Preliminary Examination and 225 candidates for Main Examination conducted by UPSC. Model Personality sessions are also
organized for the candidates who have cleared the Mains Examination to face the UPSC Personality Test board. From 2001 to 2015, 604 candidates from this Institute have taken up various all India services.
The Institute is headed by The Principal, and it functions under the control of the Director and Director General of Training, Anna Institute of Management, Chennai-28.

Courtesy the Government of Tamil Nadu for creating the right ambience, All India Civil Services Coaching Centre offers, three levels of coaching to the aspirants from less privileged background with free boarding and food to prepare for the most prestigious and competitive examination conducted by UPSC.
The Institute provides the aspirants an all embracing knowledge to make them enter into the Indian Administrative Service and related services. For this various measures are taken to enable them to achieve their target by conducting different programmes like – inspirational lectures, knowledge based class room teaching, testing sessions, issue - based discussions, and hands-on experience of personality test conducted by UPSC.
The three levels of coaching conducted through out the year are as follows :

Preliminary Examination:
Based on merit (through a competitive entrance Examination conducted through out Tamil Nadu) and Community Reservation system, 225 aspirants are admitted in Residential coaching (Full-time) and 100 aspirants in Non-Residential (Part-time) coaching. From the year 2011 onwards ICR applications are issued to the aspirants through District Collectorate. The entrance examination is conducted in seventeen (17) centres in Tamil Nadu.

Paper I — General Studies Maximum Marks 200
Paper II — C SAT Maximum Marks 200 — (qualifying nature, 33% pass percentage not included for ranking)

The Institute guides the aspirants for nearly 6 months (from December to June) to take up the Preliminary examination.
Main Examination:
The aspirants who have cleared the UPSC Preliminary examination are admitted for Main Examination Coaching (225 aspirants). Intensive coaching for nearly two to four months is given to the aspirants. A monthly stipend of Rs. 3000/- is given to each candidate admitted for Main coaching, irrespective of the income ceiling to meet expenditure for accessing reading materials.

Personality Test :
The Institute conducts Model Personality Tests for the candidates who have cleared their Main Examination. Model Personality Test Sessions are given to the candidates by Senior IAS/IPS/IRS officers and subject experts. Apart from Model Personality Sessions, different issues are taken up for discussion with the help of ht expers in the respective field. The candidates are provided accommodation at Tamil Nadu House, New Delhi for 10 days and an
amount of Rs. 2000/- is provided as train travel expenses and incidental charges. Facilities
1. A congenial and conducive atmosphere is provided to the aspirants at the Institute with airconditioned class-rooms, library, meeting hall, reading hall, dining hall and computer room.
2. Aspirants are provided with a well-equipped library with more than 25,000 books and journals. Further, every year an allotment of Rs.2,00,000 is provided for the purchase of books.
3. Wifi- connectivity is provided with 55 computers.
4. There are 2 regular faculties in this Institute and more than 25 guest faculties are engaged to coach the aspirants.
5. To encourage the aspirants, a monthly stipend of Rs.3000/- for 3 months is provided main aspirants from the year 2013.
6. For the aspirants who attend Personality Test at New Delhi, accommodation at Tamilnadu house for 10 days and an amount of Rs.2000/- is provided as train travel expenses and incidental charges
7. For the benefit of the candidates fifteen G.O’s were obtained from the Year 2011 to 2013
