Hi Sir,

I am planning to take up Civils in 2012 with Political science and History as optionals. I am basically from Engineering background , but want to take these optionals based on my interest. I heard that they are a bit vast and its difficult to get study material for Political science, please could you guide me about these optionals ? Is it a good choice to take these ?

hi,
in the new form for civil services prelims examination, there's a column for 'medium of written examination'. i wanted to choose english, but when i checked the notification, there was no code available for the english language and codes were given only for the Indian languages, and i'd no choice but to choose hindi. but at the same time, when i went through the online application, there's the provision for choosing english. is there any way by which i can change or make amends?

I am an MBA and have started preparing for CSE. I was thinking of taking Management as one of my optional subjects along with Sociology. How is the availability of coaching and study material for Management? Is this paper scoring? What has been the success rate of those taking Management as an optional? If not Management, then I have interest in Geography as well but I would prefer Management if both are equal.
I also wanted a frank opinion regarding the preparation. I am working in an IT company and I spend at least 7 hours in the office. How feasible is the preparation in this case? I can't leave the job right now, but may be for few months when I clear the prelims.
Please advise.

Hello sir, I am a student of JNU BA Russian language 1st year(2 sem).i have 3 doubts plz sort it. 1. I recieved 40% in physical disability,everything is fine except backbone So iam eligible for IAS & IFS? 2. russian literature will b good for 1st optional ? 3. hi i have a doubt i heard that i a s probation period takes to years when it will start we know the results are announced when the probation period starts for IAS and when it will end it take till 2013 ? for a canditate who wrote the examination on 2010 only get posted on 2013 ? (including the probation period) how many months and what and where the probation training will happen

can you plese post details of probation period for ias including time line from exam to posting.
