Following are the points which shows that it undermines the Constitution:

a) Loss of mandate: because creating post-election political groups for power sharing does not have voter consent.

b) Compromise on ideology: Ideology becomes the matter of convenience.

c) Horse trading: Just to grab the power.

Some of these features can be seen in the recent incident of changing side of Bihar Govt.

It does not undermine the constitution in the following way:

a) There is not any law specifically mentioned related to it in the constitution.

b) Does talk about Anti- defection law with some conditions.

c) There is not any restriction on Multi-party system.

Suggestion:

a) It impels us to question the suitability of coalition politics in India .

b) There should be a purposeful law to ensure adherence to the will of people.

c) Anti-defection law should be re-looked.
