- A satellite launch agreement has been inked between One Web, a Bharti group firm, and New Space India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Key highlights:
- A satellite launch agreement has been inked between One Web, a Bharti group firm, and New Space India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
- New Space is slated to launch in 2022 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
- To enable high-speed, low-latency communication, OneWeb's entire in-orbit constellation of 428 satellites, or 66 percent of the overall fleet, will be added to the global network.
- This launch contract comes after OneWeb and SpaceX signed a separate agreement in March 2022 to allow the company to resume satellite flights.
