iTad — Interactive Touch active display

• Researchers from IIT Madras have developed a novel touchscreen display technology called ‘iTad’ for interactive touch active display.
• The technology allows users to feel the textures of images as their finger goes across the touch surface. Present touchscreens can only sense the location of finger touch. 
• Software allows the researchers to produce a variety of textures, including sharp edges, switches, and rich textures that range from smooth to gritty.
