‘Nagware’ is software that displays a popup or notification or new window to nag the user to perform a task. For example, a nagware program asks the user to register when the user wants to open a webpage or program.
A nagware is also used to ask the user to purchase the licence when the user loads the
program.
Well-designed software should have the mechanism to stop the nagware if the user wants to stop the nag message. Often the nag messages are too irritating and cannot be stopped; in this case uninstalling the software is suggested.
