Thunderstorm

• Thunderstorm is a storm with lightning and thunder. It is also known as ‘electrical storm’. Relatively weak thunderstorms are termed as thundershowers. Thunderstorms are classified into three types – single-cell, multi-cell and super-cell. 
• The super-cell thunderstorms are the strongest and most severe. Thunderstorms can develop in any geographical location where warm, moist air from tropical latitudes collides with the cooler air from polar  latitudes. 
• Thunderstorms are many times responsible for creating hailstones and flash floods. Thunderstorms are also observed on other planets like Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune.
