(Online Course) Essay Writing Skills Improvement Programme: Men have failed, Let Women Takeover

Part C - Essays on Social issues

Men have failed; let women takeover

For billions of years now the world is in existence and man has reigned supreme on the earth since the days of Adam and Eve. Till date, male domination, male chauvinism and male worship could not be replaced by saner thoughts. Women are exploited the world over; eastern nations cannot boast of their male dominant characteristics because there are many skeletons in the western cupboards as well. In all the fields of human endeavors women have proved that they are equal to (or, even better than) men. But they have been denied their rights to rule the world and manage its affairs with prudence. The fairer sex does not want to build up a castle on the rudiments of fiascos created by man. She only wants a chance to pro herself. We can explain how man has lost his turn to rule.

The world has been ruled by men for long, and just one look at the state of things today makes one feel that they have played a poor part. They have failed to fulfill all hopes of making the world a better place to be in with the passage of time. The world today is ravaged by war and disease-and many other disasters created purely by the efforts of men to achieve more than they are capable of. It is a world showing symptoms of a dangerous kind, of things that would only destroy its well-being-the global arms race and the proliferation of nuclear weapons, a fast depleting ozone layer and other environmental hazards created by men at the helm. It is high time that women take over the reins although it would be a world of bleak prospects that would fall to their care.

Man has valued women’s abilities as a mother, sister, wife and friend. But he has not allowed her to take a front seat amidst chaos. That is what today’s women wants, the power to take fruitful decisions. She is exploited every day and blamed for most of the vices man possesses. Man himself is corrupt and will not allow her to dominate him in any walk of life.

(Online Course) History for IAS Mains: Regional States during Gupta Era - Kadamba Dynasty

Regional States during Gupta Era

Topic: Kadamba Dynasty

Answer:There were several regional states durin the Gupta Period. Kadamba Dynasty (345 - 525 CE) was a primeval majestic dynasty of Karnataka that ruled from Vaijayanti or Banavasi in present day Uttara Kannada district. The decline of the Satavahana power in the Deccan was followed by the rule of many lesser dynasties like the Chutus, the Abhiras and the Ikshvakus during the third century A.D. the Karnataka area, however emerged out of this political confusion in the following century, when the Kadambas of Banavasi rose to prominence. The dynasty later continued to rule as a feudatory of larger Kannada empires, the Chalukya and the Rashtrakuta empires for over five hundred years, during which time they branched into Goa, Hanagal, and Chandavar. Mauryas, Satavahanas and Chutus were the pre Kadamba rulers where the ruling families were not natives of the region. Kadamba dynasty is important because it was the first indigenous dynasty to use Kannada at an administrative level. Kadambas kept paying nominal allegiance to other major power brokers of Deccan like Yadavas and Hoysalas of Dorasamudra and thus mantained their independence. Four different families of Kadambas ruled in southern India which was Kadamabas of Hangal, Kadambas of Goa, Kadambas of Belur and Kadambas of Banvasi.
